Abstract: | This paper investigates the journey of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) from bankruotcy protection to sustainability. In 2002 the CPO was facing the threat of dissolution. However, by undergoing an intensive renewal process that involved the collaboration of musicians, staff and board members over the span of 7 weeks, the CPO developed a comprehensive renewal plan. This case describes how how an organisation-wide visioning process can be used to leverage and unleash the forces of change. |
