Abstract:Replacement costs can be significant, particularly for higher-level employees. However, if employees are performing at unacceptable levels, the costs of replacing them may be, and probably will be, far less than the expense of keeping them. Thus, some turnover shown on organizational records as voluntary may be not only desirable but also cost effective.
