| Abstract: | This paper introduces and characterizes a strategic management conceptualization of risk that deviates meaningfully from the more familiar finance and decision theory perspectives. Understanding the perspective of a risk paradigm is key, because it affects the objectives and position of particular individuals or groups. Each risk perspective is legitimate in that it provides unique information and understanding. |
