| Abstract: | Electronic trading on both traditional and new exchanges has been evolving rapidly. Where will it all end? Here are some speculations about the exchanges that will come to dominate trading in the 21st century. A frictionless market for exchanges will feature an equilibrium in which traders use indexed limit orders at different levels of urgency but do not use market orders or conventional limit orders. |
