| Abstract: | To any successful business endeavour, it is important to understand the cultural context in which particular managerial, organizational, and strategic decisions are made. This article provides results from in-depth, face-to-face interviews with Russian and Belarussian managers, regional government officials, and Russian defence industry scholars exemplifying how strategic choices concerning former defence enterprises are heavily influenced by cultural constraints and conditions endemic to socialist ideologies. |
