Abstract: | The decision making process associated with selecting an alliance partner is complex and challenging, especially when considering the high rate of alliance failure. With access to all relevant information, managers can use a rational, analytical process to evaluate strategic fit. However, under inadequate information, decision making gets much more difficult. One response is to rely more on trust among individuals and btw. firms, another is to rely on and develop strategic expediency (here as: str-exp-y.). Identified are several techniques for individual managers to be used to improve their str-exp-y. |
