Abstract:The use of computers is expected to grow throughout the 1990's. Prolonged computer use, repetitive keying, awkward postures and psychosocial issues have been associated with injuries described as cumulative trauma disorders (CTD's). The incidence and reporting of occupationally induced CTD's has increased dramatically since 1980. This paper describes a process developed to automate computer workstation adjustment , and presents the findings of a large survey associated with this process.
