Abstract: | When there is a vacant position at an enterprise, the chief of the personnel department has three choices for getting an appropriate employee: advertisement, headhunters and personnel consultants. Personnel managers often hesitate as to the applicability and usefulness of these methods. Based on a survey of 637 enterprises, a German personnel consultant has analyzed the behaviour of German managers in such situations. The advantages and disadvantages of each of the methods are investigated, especially the use of headhunters and personnel consultants are compared in detail. |
