Abstract:Common sense tells us that the best way to assess job candidates is to ask them to perform elements of the role. But work simulations are not as straightforward as they might appear to be. According to the British Psychological Society, work simulations are the best way to predict success in a job. Ensuring that the simulation is an effective test of suitable skills is best done by asking experienced staff to perform the exercise and comparing the results with their performance assessments.
