Abstract: | The interview (henceforth as: i-w./i-ws.) scores can be affected by coaching (here as: c-g.) interviewees (as: intws.) to perform in employment i-ws. Different types of c-g. are described, emphasizing interventions designed to focus intws. on core, i-w.-relevant content and to help them convey the content accurately. Studied are the effects of the former type of intervention in relation to the criterion-related validity of a structured employment i-w. Based on a combined sample of more than 140 public safety job incumbents, a predictive validation study is performed using scores from a situational panel i-w. Predictive validity and reliability was found to be higher in a sample of coached intws. compared to a sample of uncoached intws. |
