Abstract: | China's exchange reserves increased from US$ 0.84 billion in 1979 to US$ 73.6 billion in 1995 and has topped US$ 100 billion at present. China's foreign exchange reserves are ampler but do not exceeds the normal standard by a huge amount. Even if there is a certain excess amount, it can be used for the purpose of making up when exchange reserves are reduced. At the same time, it is no good concentrating unduly exchange reserves on US dollars. Among them, Mark, Japanese yen, Franc and Pound sterling should have a certain proportion separately. And designing an optimal scheme of proportion for the four currencies is desirable. |
