| Abstract: | This article reports on the impact of the Basel II document on the banking industry. The document contains new requirements for credit risk management aiming to more closely align the prudential capital requirements of banks with the risks to which they are exposed. In addition, the article takes a look at the possible resemblance of Basel III. |
