Abstract:This article investigates how companies can learn by participating in their customers' networks. Hierarchical linear modelling is used to test the hypothesis that a bank's structural embeddedness in its customers' network has a positive effect on the bank's ability to offer favourable credit terms. It is found that such structural embeddedness not only influence credit terms, but also moderates the effects of previously investigated relational embeddedness on credit terms.
