| Abstract: | Careers of female workers are marked with periods of full-time work and economic inactivity. This makes female workers heterogeneous - diversified as a function of time - professional and social group. The active and inactive phases of women's professional careers are examined separately. It is shown how and why contradictions and conflicts arise within the family when a new active period begins. The nature of complex transactions occuring on these occasions in the household is examined. Some alternative solutions to the most typical probles are suggested. |
