| Abstract: | In consequence of the high and ever growing rates of unenployment in the developed countries, the problem of unemployment has become a crucial issue for politics and economics. The factors influencing the development of employment since the sixties and the conclusions derived from the examination for policy are analyzed. It is argued that although a part of the recent employment can really be explained by the popular theories based on exogenous determinants, the fundamental reasons of the high rate of unemployment are associated with the endogenous development processes of industrialized countries. |
