| Abstract: | The import demand for steel, especially the large-sized steel with high quality is still very strong in China in 1994. But the overall level will go down and the import volume will decrease by one third or so over 1993. Due to the possible further devaluation of RMB and the narrowing of the price differences of steel between home and abroad, the attraction of steel import becomes apparently weaker. |
