| Abstract: | This paper holds that by the year 2000, the major objectives and missions in development of foreign economy and trade in China should include the following aspects: (1) Attracting and utilizing more foreign capital while at the same time strengthening guidance in investment; (2) keeping the moderate growth and rough balance of import and export total volume; (3) Continuing to improve the structure of export commodities; (4) Devoting great efforts to practice pluralization of market; (5) Deepening the reform of foreign trade system; (6) Gradually opening service trade and making wider the opening up of China's economy as a whole and enhancing its competitive ability. |
