| Abstract: | Expediting the development of the central and western parts of China is where China's hope lies in the 21st century, which has already aroused the attention of investors both at home and abroad. In 1994, the overseas investment in northwest China alone exceeded USD 10 billion, involving the fields which expanded from general processing industries to infrastructure like railway and shipping, with the amount of investment growing to several ten millions and several hundreds of millions US dollars from several hundred thousands in general. Besides, the investment projects of big international consortiums and transnational corporations increased apparently too. |
