Abstract:The adoption of Environmental Management Systems is an ever-increasing phenomenon. The rate of growth will continue given the importance of the environment as a public policy issue. with this background, what has been the response of business to environmental concerns? What are the attitudes and perceptions of firms regarding the environment? These questions form the basis of the article. Using as key variables company size and industry sector, the motives for and against using environmental audits and reviews are examined.
