Abstract:Corporations and environmentalists are burying the hatchet and slowly finding economic and ecological advantages in partnerships. Environmentalism is undergoing fundamental change. It is altering how environmentalists and business executives view one another and elevating the strategic significance of ecology. During the twentieth century, the environmental movement has evolved over the distinct "waves". The first wave emerged under president Theodore Roosevelt. After a period of unprecedented industrial growth, a surge of citizen activism sparked the second wave.
