| Abstract: | This study focuses on empirical survey and analysis of strategic processes. It reconstructs 65 complete cases. Its results suggest low levels of strategic planning inside German companies. Problems involved are twofold: - scant application of recent strategic management concepts (such as value chain , structural industry analysis, share- holder value, stakeholder approach); - implementing strategies - be it business-related or personal - remains a largely unsolved problem area. The study has been conducted at Lehrstuhl für Unternehmens- führung, University of Dortmund, Germany. |
