| Abstract: | As human competence expands at unprecedented speed, in directions never seriously envisioned, biology is emerging to complement the physical sciences as the base for technological development. Each of the sciences is now turning out opportunities for the development of new technologies. Prominent among these are the biological sciences, which will soon enjoy parity with the physical sciences as a source of technology and national wealth. |
