Abstract:Demand factors are playing a more important role in market operation in China since the economic reform and implementation of the open door policy. This paper analyzes the demanding determinants of consumer good theoretically, establishes rural, urban sales functions respectively, and then integrates them into a sales aggregate model of China. An empirical study based on the model indicates the following result: The three-equation model which consists of current income, price, and saving of last year as exogenous variables well explains rural and urban consumption.
