| Abstract: | The authors investigate empirically the influence of German universal banks on the performance of German firms. They take into account control rights of banks from equity ovnership, proxy-voting rights, and concentration of control rights, which includes complex forms such as pyramids, cross-shareholdings, and stocks with multiple votes. |
