Abstract:This paper provides the text of the interview with M. L. Marks. The main ideas of this interview are following: More than three-quarters of corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&As) fail to attain projected business results. In most cases, executives do not provide the resources required to make the deal work, and they underestimate what is required to bring two companies together. Larger companies are dealing with the shortfalls of past mergers and acquisitions however, at the same time, these companies know that they will continue to participate in more deals. These companies are therefore charging their human resource personnel with the responsibility of creating methods for integrating these acquisitions.
