Abstract:The present paper develops a model taking consumer's price-quality-judgement under uncertainty as its basis. The assumed asymmetric information with respect to the true quality of an innovative product introduced into the market in combination with consumer's evaluation leads to a special form of a static demand function. Diffusion of information is introduced by communication between adopters and nonadopters which reduces the uncertainty of consumers with an increasing number of cumulative buyers (original in German).
