| Abstract: | This article examines processes of globalization and the adoption of communication technologies by developing a temporal perspective towards them. This theoretical perspective is extended and used in examining electronic trading and the processes of globalization across futures exchanges in London and Chicago. Finally some e-trading strategy implications are concluded and changes in trader work life considered. |
