| Abstract: | This article examines how in some countries and tourist areas, new instruments have been introduced to document tourism developments in with better way than before. This effort has been made due to the fact that tourism is an area with poor statistical coverage. The article is based on a recent study (Schmid 2003), which set up a reporting system using a panel in which businesses in branches of economic activity of relevance to tourism can participate. |
