Abstract: | Today, a large part of employees perceive their leaders as lacking personal integrity. To battle against this, companies are emphasizing their probity, which is problematic because executives tend to instrumentalize the value of integrity. This article argues that the current talk about integrity is misleading and that the concept needs to be redefined. The paper discusses three traditions' understanding of the idea of integrity, states that integrity is intrinsically valuable, and concludes with suggestions on how integrity functions as a business asset. |
