Abstract: | This paper reports on research which tests hypothesis related to multiple criteria decision making, planning tools and the influence of optimism or pessimism feelings on the decision making. The particular case analyzed was a time allocation situation, where 201 Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) students used a decision support system that was purposefully based on neutral, optimistic or pessimistic models. The results highlight the importance of emotions and the impact of psychological factors on the decision maker's choice of criterion values. |
