Abstract:The identification of genes that specifically affect economic outcomes such as occupational and other choices is now possible with the recent development of genome-wide association study (GWAS) design. This has many possible implications for economics research and the article focuses on entrepreneurship specifically. However, in order to get useable results, very large samples sizes are needed. For the case of entrepreneurship, it is estimated that over 30,000 observations are required.
