| Abstract: | A guide for managers through the systems available,has been developed for small to medium size companies. After giving short specifications of the terminology of the area,the key aspects of computerized operation are identified. Different production systems are compared by taking examples from the motoring industry. After describing the interrelation between the various components of an expert system,a model for research on relationship between production and office automation is suggested. |
