Abstract:Technological progress and the exacerbation in competition spurred by innovation call for important strategic corporate decisions on products,and manufacturing processes and location structure for the 1990s. This,in turn, emphasizes the importance of strategic planning and innovation management - on the one hand with regard to the forecast potential of economic,technological and social trends,and on the other hand,with regard to the ability to plan and introduce future products and production processes,since implementation of company decisions is becoming more and more complex as a consequence of social- and politico-economical restrictions.
