Abstract: | The successful implementation of strategy demands a logical relationship between the short and long terms in organizations. Some degree of managerial myopia is clearly essential to the attainment of strategic goals. To implement good strategy, short term thinking must often be encouraged. It also needs to be controlled. The organizational structures,short-term planning mechanisms and strategic controls are examined that managers can use to promote and harness constructive myopia. |
