Abstract: | Only a dozen firms control approximately 80 % of the resources and capital equipment of the US copper industry. In such a setting, many strategic decisions cornering the employment of resources and equipment depend upon the firms' individual and collective bargaining powers; therefore, such control has a pronounced effect upon the way the firms think about and predict the industry's mergers and contractual agreements. Cooperative models presented qualify individual oligopolists' abilities to threaten or to bargain. |
