Abstract:Problems of small companies are discussed. The role of advisers is analyzed. The economic and legal environment of small firms is outlined. Old and new consulting services are compared. The complexity of small business is highlighted. Examples are given for the most dramatic changes. A new kind of relationship with the advisers is recommended. Consulting contracts are discussed. The importance of anticipating events and get the best advice or service early enough is emphasized. Closer involvement of advisers to the business is mentioned as a thing giving practical knowledge of the consulting needs.
