| Abstract: | Recent developments in materials management in manufacturing organizations are reviewed. A number of new concepts for the planning and control of materials in the production processes are examined. The importance of the human resource and a "total systems" view in successfully implementing a new system is stressed, and benefits and shortcomings to be anticipated are assessed. |
