Abstract: | With the rise of wide variety of new, highly integrated, advanced technologies , the firm's managers have to deal with new issues in their purchasing decisions. For example, they have to evaluate the benefits and the costs of these technologies, determine a good order of implementation and find an optimum when many of the benefits are a function of learning and synergistic effects. A new model is presented, which describes the interaction effects of these highly integrated technologies. The data requirements are also discussed. As illustrations, several multitechnology examples are studied with the model. |
