Abstract: | A strategic planning model is estimated consistent with share price maximization. Management can set dividend, capital expenditures, and research and development expenditure levels while minimizing the reliance upon external funding to maximize the stock price. The strategic planning model estimated is an alternative to the traditional corporate goals of maximizing the return on equity (ROE) and growth in earnings per share (GEPS). The model assumes that firm's stock price is positively and significantly associated with research and development, dividend, and capital expenditures levels. |
