| Abstract: | Alette Olin Hill's 'Mother Tongue, Father Time: A Decade of Linguistic Revolt', Bloomington, Indiana University Press, 1986, is more appropriate for a popular audience than for a professional one. This is the conclusion the reviewer reaches. Hill's book on women and language allows to assume that the biological sex of the speaker inexorably dictates language behaviour. |
