Abstract:Commitment to the job doesn't necessarily means commitment to the organization so it's essential to examine the distinctions. The present study explored the relationships among several categories of commitment and line/staff distinctions. A sample of 207 police officers responded to a questionnaire measuring morale and calculative organizational commitment and job commitment. The findings confirmed that line employees tended to show more job commitment than staff personnel.
