Abstract: | By the end of 1990 the US recession is almost a certainty. Most companies will face a difficult environment in the coming months. The CPAs should make a financial contingency plan to help the managers to take promt, efficient action to contain a slowdown. Early warning signs are: "ripple effect" of problems in a dominant regional industry or a sudden jump in inventories, etc. The most important decisions to prepare for slowdown include reduction of inventories, tightening up on credit and cost reduction. |
