| Abstract: | The author uses data from the 1985 General Household Survey to study the determinants of a contemporary petty bourgeoisie class status in the U.K. The analysis is based on a logistic regression procedure, which allows for a novel multivariate analysis. Independent variables are social class origins, highest educational qualifications and gender. The groups with highest and lowest probability are determined. |
