| Abstract: | A news-panel program, Nightline, is broadcast by the North American network, ABC Television. This article focuses on how violence gets told, how versions get constructed or contested. Participants used the communicative practices of invoking membership categories (here as: m-ctgs.) and activity terms and formulating events in support of their evaluative viewpoint. These m-ctgs. were often presented by the use of conflicting positionings in referencing persons or events. |
