Abstract:The main tasks of marketing are examined in relation with the marketing' decisions. The analysis of competition is based on the knowledge of competitive processes. Some influencing factors of competition and their lawlike relationships are highlighted. These influde first of all some market factors such as market size, market growth etc., and cost factors such as cost degression, product differentiation, learning curves etc. Several conclusions are drawn for the right behaviour of the participants of the competitive market situation. The main objectives of the analysis of competitors are summarized. Their market/performance strategies as well as as their strengths and weaknesses are compared.
