Abstract: | The aim of the present study conducted in a hospital in Ontario was to understand the dynamics of power involved in the budgeting process. It examines power from multiple perspectives, particularly those drawn from the functionalist and interpretive paradigms. The interpretive paradigm raises some questions for organisation development and together with the insight gained from the functionalist perspective the consultant can choose consciously whether to attempt a change effort. |
