Abstract:To date, few (if any) business environmental initiatives elaborate a clear measurable baseline for sustainability. Recent studies have shown that in 1992 the global economy had overshot the capacity of the Earth to sustain us by 25% and in 1997, the overshot grew to 35%. We do not need our science to tell us that something is wrong. In contrast, global business interests continue accelerating us into higher more unsustainable levels of growth without arousing a requisite sense of risk.
