| Abstract: | The potential for a new business model - the chemical management service model (CMS) model - is examined to provide an innovative approach to chemical risk management. The outcome of a joint Green Alliance/Chemical Strategies Partnership workshop held in February 2003 on the CMS model in the automotive and aerospace industries is primarily reflected. A practitioners perspective is put forward by using case studies from a range of industry sectors to demonstrate the environmental and economic gains achieved as a result of implementing CMS programmes in the USA and Europe. |
