Abstract:Throughout time there has been much evidence of the various efforts of companies to be involved in the development of their communities. This participation has been motivated by different reasons over time. At first, some corporate involvement in the community was inspired by the church, and later, government regulation often became the stimulus to involvement. Today, the different motivations for companies' involvement in their communities can be divided generally into two categories: philanthropy and business strategy.
