Abstract: | The article deals with leading multi-stakeholder labour monitoring organizations operating in the maquiladora industry. The organizations' board compositions, codes of conduct and monitoring enforcement strategies are examined as a implement of tentatively positioning them along an "egoist-instrumentalist-moralist" ethical culture continuum. That provides insights the organizations' broader stakeholders perceived salience, the effectiveness of codes of conduct on workplace practices, and also the role of ethics in the organizations' governance and accountability. |
